Write to your MP
The Independent Football Regulator exists because Parliament created it, and Parliament is watching what it does about distributions. A draft State of the Game report is due later this year. This is the window.
1. Find your constituency
Rather not? Parliament's own Find your MP service does the same job.
2. Make it yours
A personalised letter counts for far more than a form one. Staff in an MP's office can spot a template at a glance, and a hundred identical letters are counted as one. Two sentences of your own turns it into correspondence from a constituent about something they care about.
Three things worth adding:
- Your club, and one specific thing about it. The year it was founded, the state of the stand, how far the away trips are, who does the pitch. Something a template could not invent.
- Why you personally care. Whether you played there, took your children there, or just walk past it. One sentence.
- A direct question. "Will you raise this with the Secretary of State?" is harder to file away than "please consider this issue".
Edit it freely. Nothing here is sent anywhere by this page — you copy it, or open it in your own email program.
The email button opens your own mail program with the letter already in it. Put your MP's address in the To field — we do not fill that in, because we do not publish a list of members we cannot keep current.
3. Then tell us
If you get a reply, we would genuinely like to see it. Replies tell us which arguments are landing and which are not, and a pattern across constituencies is itself worth publishing.
While you are at it
A letter from a club carries more weight than a letter from a supporter. There is a template for that in the toolkit.
