The short version

The data and the words are yours to use under CC BY 4.0. Please do use them. Do not pretend we said something we did not, and do not present the campaign's estimates as anyone's official figures.

Licence

Everything published on this site — the text, the dataset, the charts, the toolkit files and the source code — is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.

You may copy it, redistribute it, adapt it and build on it, including commercially. The only condition is attribution: credit Fair Share Football, fairsharefootball.com, link back where that is practical, and say if you changed anything.

Two things are not ours to license: any photograph credited to a photographer, which remains theirs and is used with permission, and any club name, badge or trade mark that appears on the site, which belongs to the club.

Using our figures

If you republish a number from this site, please carry its confidence marking with it. Specifically:

  • Figures marked Our estimate are the campaign's own arithmetic and should be described as such.
  • The one per cent model is a campaign model, not a policy of the Premier League, the EFL, The FA, the regulator or anyone else.

We ask this not to be difficult but because the whole argument depends on people being able to trust numbers, including ours.

Accuracy, and what happens when we get it wrong

We take a great deal of care and we still expect to be wrong occasionally. Nothing on this site is financial, legal or professional advice, and it is published in good faith rather than with any warranty.

When an error is pointed out we correct it, note the correction on the methodology section, and where it is material, say so in the news feed. We do not silently edit.

Linking to us

Link to anything, from anywhere, without asking. Deep links to a step, a glossary term, a source or a filtered view of the data are all designed to be stable.

Third-party links

We link to sources and to public services such as postcodes.io and Parliament's member lookup. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Behaviour

If you use our materials to abuse or harass anyone — a club, an executive, a journalist or a supporter — you are not part of this campaign, whatever our name is on. We will say so publicly if we have to.
